Little Projects

My room is finished!! (Minus a couple of pillows I need to make.) I'm still moving a few accessories around trying to decide where I like them best. I'm not ready to show pictures of the whole room yet, but in the mean time, I have a couple of little projects to share.

First up, my favorite thing besides my picture frame collage: Horns!!
That's right, horns!! Don't ask me how I came with the idea to glitterize horns... but that's just how my brain works!! Take a look...

My dad actually allowed me to use some horns he had.

In the process..

After!!

SO, What do you think?

Next up: I took a thrift store find and did a little up-cycling.

All I did was super glue a candle stick to the bottom and ta-da!!

Wall Art

One of the first things I decided I wanted in my new room was an empty picture frame collage. I was inspired by this website, which has some great collages. I spent about $40 on the whole project and it was very simple. Here are a few pictures:

Thrift Store frames

All empty

After a coat of spray paint.
TIP: Decide on the layout you like... on the floor!!

Ta Dah!!

I'm not even going to lie... I sit and stare at this on a regular basis. Call me crazy.

Before Pictures

Here are the before pictures!! Trust me.. I feel the same way you feel about the decor. I mean, is this really what I gave up my childhood playroom for?

Thrift Store Haul

In any case, the thrift store is always the best place to find "different" items.
I typically don't have the patience to sift through racks and shelves of... stuff. But something has come over me and I will accept nothing less than a good deal. Maybe it's the $300 budget I put myself on..
But anyways.
Here are my little treasures from two different thrift store trips:
That first one is just SCREAMING for candy in it.
This sucker cost $7... out-of-control!! But I have a cute idea for it!
This poor piggy may not make it out anywhere. I'm dissliking her more and more.

AH I just realized I don't have any circle frames... I guess that's what I get for being on the phone while picking them out.

THE END
Come back to see how I upcycle and decorate with these thrifty finds!

Get lost in my vision? Yeah, me too!! Let me explain...
I love all types of design:
Modern/ Contemporary
Southern/ Country
Vintage
Gothic/Medieval
Simplistic
You name it... I can see the beauty in it. (Except maybe traditional. Oriental Rugs? Ick!)

So I figure, why stick to one style when they are all so great. I mean, there are no rules that state I can't put my vintage mason jar next to a silver abstract kissing statue, right? RIGHT!! So when asked what style I'm going for, I'll simply answer.. Eclectic. :)
